Brus Laguna has one of the largest
populations of tarpon in Central America this
makes for some of the best tarpon sport fishing
in the world.
The numerous rivers, streams and lagoons of
the area provide unlimited fishing spots and
some great tarpon fishing. |

The tarpon is a large thick-bodied
fish with a silver-colored front its back
can range from a dark green to grey. The
tarpon has a large strong scoop shaped mouth
and it has an elongated dorsal fin. Its
scales are large and thick and very strong.

The tarpon is
regarded as one of the worlds best fighting
game fish it is famous for amazing leaps into
the air while it battles with the fisherman. |

Most tarpon landed
are between 40 to 80 pounds though tarpon
can grow up to 300 pound. The world all tackle
record is 283 pounds 4ounces. |
